Gap’s Mild Slope.

I

have a deep love for horizontal photographs. While many of my images are captured in vertical orientation, I often turn the camera sideways when I’m on hillsides. Keeping the horizon line level in these shots helps convey just how steep the terrain really is. Even when the incline isn’t dramatic—like in this photograph—the gradual slope to the right adds a sense of weight to the composition. I love how the balance shifts, making the right side of the image feel grounded and dynamic.

For this particular shot, I knelt down into a lunge position. By lowering my perspective, I was able to create an upward view of the vines, reinforcing the contrast between the natural world’s organic flow and the concept of what we consider "level." This subtle shift in perspective brings attention to the way horizon lines weave through our field of view, revealing the movement and balance inherent in nature.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this winter-themed album of images I’ve been sharing with you. These photographs are currently available in the Dan Quiñones Prints Incline Collection, but only until the end of February—just one more week! After that, a brand-new set of images will take their place, and these will no longer be available.

This print is available in vertical orientations ranging from 8x10 inches to 40x60 inches, as well as square formats. Each print, whether it be on the Pearl Paper, Canvas, or Metal is reproduced in the highest quality possible, bringing the details and mood of the photograph to life.

If any of the pieces resonated with you, please let me know. I’d be happy to help you guide you in deciding on a photograph to order, and provide input on sizing, and ultimately select the perfect materials to showcase these pieces in your space. Did you have a favorite? If so, I’d love to hear which one spoke to you most. Send me a message.
